As you can tell my little helper also enjoys these cookies. She couldn't even wait for me to take a picture.
I don't make sugar cookies very often because they are so much more work than a drop cookie. This recipe is really fast because it doesn't need to refrigerate before you cut out the cookies. So when you want to make sugar cookies you don't have to wait that extra hour or whatever. These cookies don't have a ton of flavor by themselves but once you add frosting they are amazing. So soft and yummy. They almost taste like those vending machine cookies that are so soft and have tons of frosting, you know what I'm talking about.

Fast Sugar Cookies
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 t. vanilla
- 7 cups flour
- 2 t. baking soda
- 4 t. cream of tarter
I don't like waiting the extra 2 hours either, so when I DO make sugar cookies (not very often), I try to double the batch and keep some in the freezer. I didn't do that this week, and now I'm made at myself, because Monday's cookies are all gone and the kids will want some tomorrow! Maybe I'll give your recipe a try :)
ReplyDeleteOops, supposed to be mad not made!
ReplyDeletei have never made sugar cookies. those look so fun and i like fast!
ReplyDeleteI don't like making sugar cookies much because they take about twice the work! Not only do you have to bake them, you have to decorate them. I usually try to do the two jobs on different days to keep it fun. Oh, and I love Addie's hands in the picture. I think that it's a great touch!
ReplyDeletePS-We tried those Amish chocolate chip cookies you talked about a while ago. Super yum!
I like that it doesn't have to chill!
